We cannot see ourselves

Drew us in just to put us out

Tell us to show up as our authentic selves

Doing the least gets paid the most

All because you thought I knew something you didn’t know

We live in a time when speaking truth gets you “canned”

Fragility is real and we let them get away with it

We are exactly opposite of what we say we are

Good niggers keep their heads down and their mouths shut

At least that’s what they keep teaching us

And we ourselves are doing the massah’s work

Keeping families together

We are great pretenders

Tearing them apart

They keep assassinating me

They can’t make me die

You mad?

Because I speak

Transparency is speaking everything

In rawness and confusion

I keep speaking my truth

You told on yourself

Just to feel validated

And now I am the enemy

Because I speak

I thought everyone saw the show on the 50-yard line

Kendrick tried to explain

The deeper I go the more I find

I showed up blind

Pollyanna was the name of my lenses

Wolves really exist in sheep's clothing

Just listen, sshhh, don't speak

I speak for those who remain silent

Everyone deserves to be seen

Thank you for showing up just as you are

I hope the greatest pour out of abundance comes to you

Beyond anything you can imagine in this world

My differences are so much that you couldn’t handle me?

Not willing to understand me

Leave the crumbs on the floor

Stop dangling them

There is a learning in everything

Seek-not just find-the blessings

On to the next
