Where We Began — and Who We Became

On Paper LLC was born out of a gap — and a deep desire to close it.

Founded in 2007 and formalized in 2012, On Paper began with a simple truth:
BIPOC-led organizations were doing brilliant, life-changing work, but their systems weren’t built to hold their brilliance.

 

Everything lived in:

• oral tradition

• overextended leaders

• unrecorded institutional knowledge

• scattered files and heroic memory

• processes held together by sheer commitment

 

As a former nonprofit executive, Brianna Miller saw firsthand how vulnerable organizations became when key staff left, and the wisdom left with them.
 

So she did what needed to be done:

She got things on paper — and helped others do the same.

 

What started as documentation became infrastructure.
Infrastructure became clarity.
Clarity became alignment.
 

And alignment opened the door to deeper questions:

• Who are we as an organization?

• What do we stand for?

• How do we build systems that honor identity, culture, and truth?

• How do we create structures that support the communities we serve?

 

These questions transformed On Paper LLC from an organizational support practice into a liberation-centered, identity-rooted, ecosystem-level partner for individuals, teams, and institutions.

How Our Work Evolved

As the needs of our communities expanded, so did the work.

What began with structure grew to include:

 

Coaching — to support the alignment

Consulting — to support the structure

Training — to support the practice

Assessment — to support the truth

Curriculum Design — to support the learning

 

These five pillars formed the backbone of a practice committed to helping people and organizations become who they say they are — in action, in identity, in leadership, and in culture.

 

Through these pillars, On Paper LLC built a reputation for work that is:

As On Paper grew, the work revealed an even deeper calling:
to build not just structure, but learning, story, and embodiment.

The needs of the people shaped the next evolution — and the On Paper Ecosystem emerged, made up of four interconnected arms:

The parent organization and strategic home for coaching, consulting, training, assessment, and curriculum design.

Mirror Academy — The School

A licensed educational arm offering liberatory, identity-centered learning for communities with barriers to access — and for the practitioners who serve them.

On Paper Press — The Publisher

A home for truth-telling, genre-defying, marginalized, and first-time authors whose stories reshape what the world believes is possible.

The Infinence Spot — The Store

A creative marketplace where possibility becomes tangible — through intentional products, books, journals, and gifts that support self-expression and abundance without limitation.

These arms did not appear out of ambition.
They emerged from the needs of the people.
From the evolution of the work.
From the belief that liberation requires more than one doorway.

and then live it out in structure, in strategy, in story, in learning, and in being.
