Being Into Existence What Does Not Yet Already Exist

ree

The Practice of What Isn’t

A possibility is not something that already exists.

It is something that isn’t. (Bettie Spruill, Ideal Coaching Global)

That’s the foundation of my work.

I don’t coach people toward goals or outcomes.

I coach them in how to be—so they can bring into existence what does not yet already exist.

That’s the difference between change and creation.

Change rearranges what already is.

Creation brings forward what has never been.

To live this way requires something deeper than strategy or motivation.

It requires a way of being that can stand in uncertainty—a way of seeing that can hold what isn’t yet visible—and a faith in yourself as the structure through which possibility becomes real.

Being biracial taught me this before I had words for it.

I grew up learning to navigate worlds that were not built with me in mind.

To see what was missing, but also what could be.

To exist inside contradiction and still call it home.

That’s where my understanding of ontology was born—not from textbooks, but from the lived experience of becoming something that didn’t have a template.

When the world doesn’t offer a version of you that fits, you learn to build yourself from the inside out.

That’s what I teach now:

How to see yourself as the starting point for creation.

How to align your being with what you want to exist.

How to hold the tension between what is and what could be—and practice possibility until it becomes form.

You don’t manifest possibility by wishing.

You become it by practice.

Practicing What Isn’t (Yet)

Here’s what I invite people to do in this work — whether in coaching, writing, or leadership:

  1. Name What Isn’t Yet

Write down what you keep waiting for — the opportunity, clarity, belonging, or courage that “isn’t” here yet.

Then ask: Who would I have to be if it already existed?

  2. Be It Before You See It

Let your way of being lead the way.

Don’t act from the absence of it; act from the presence of what you’re bringing into existence.

Speak from it. Think from it. Behave from it.

  3. Structure It into Reality

Every possibility needs a structure to live inside.

Create the smallest physical form of it — a schedule, a paragraph, a first conversation, a sketch.

Make it real enough to relate to.

  4. Sustain the Practice

    Creation isn’t a moment. It’s a relationship with what isn’t yet real.

Keep practicing being the person who would already have it.

This is The Possibility Practice™.

It’s not about hope.

It’s about authorship.

It’s the act of bringing into existence what the world has not yet imagined—and doing it without apology.

If you want to know what that looks like lived out loud,

read The Possibility of Me.

It isn’t just a memoir.

It’s a manual for being what doesn’t exist yet—and becoming real anyway.

Coaching Invitation: Being What Isn’t (Yet)

If this speaks to you, this is the work we do together in my coaching practice.

I teach people how to be in a way that allows what they want to exist—to actually come into form.

You might come to coaching because you’re:

  • Standing on the edge of a major transition or creative leap,

  • Feeling unseen or confined inside a system that doesn’t yet reflect who you are,

  • Ready to create something that doesn’t yet exist—a business, a book, a new way of leading, or a new way of living.

Our work begins with who you’re being—because when your being aligns with your purpose, everything you’ve been chasing begins to find you.

This is The Possibility Practice™ in action:

a coaching process that brings consciousness, structure, and creation into harmony so you can bring the not-yet into the now.

it’s waiting for who you’re willing to be.

Every day make progress and practice possibility!
